St. Croix is host to the Virgin Islands Agriculture & Food Fair, known as Virgin Islands AgriFest. The largest festival of agriculture in the territory, thousands of people come out to celebrate our abundance of local produce, livestock, food, and artisan products in the Virgin Islands. AgriFest 2020 is the 49th annual event and the theme is “Agriculture: Trendy in 2020”. The Rudolph Shulterbrandt Agricultural Complex will be packed with activities and good food February 15-17.

The main exhibition hall features fruit, vegetable and herb plants and produce for sale, as well as an exhibit of student projects. We enjoy looking at all of the dioramas depicting agriculture in the Virgin Islands before selecting some plants and goodies to take home. In and around the livestock pavilion you’ll find cows, pigs, goats, rabbits, chickens, ducks, turkeys, peacocks and other critters on display. There are awards given for various categories, including the highest honor of Farmer of the Year.

Vendor booths line the walkway, selling clothing, jewelry, soaps, handicrafts, and much more. Nonprofits, schools and government agencies set up educational displays and demonstrations. And let’s not forget about the food! You’ll find something for just about every palate, including local cuisine, baked goods, ice cream, pates, johnny cakes, local juices, vegan foods…the list goes on. It’s truly an event not to be missed!

Celebrating 30 Years
In celebration of Centerline’s 30th anniversary, we’re sharing 30 Things Centerline Loves About St. Croix. Each week we’ll share something new — and we hope you’ll chime in on social media by telling us what you love too! Our big 3-0 is in March 2020, when we’ll also be giving away a St. Croix vacation.
