Jumping off the Frederiksted Pier is a favorite pastime for all ages on St. Croix. Locals jump off the Pier to celebrate milestones — like the last day of the school year or the new year — or simply because it’s a Sunday Funday.
The jump is about 25 feet into crystal clear water and there are ladders at various points along the Pier. You may feel intimidated at first, but after you take the plunge, you’ll want to do it again and again! Skilled jumpers perform flips and tricks, while others simply plug their nose and squeal with delight on their way down!
Note that the Pier is not open to general public foot traffic when a cruise ship is in port and the VI Port Authority may enforce other restrictions. Also, there is no lifeguard on duty, so please understand that you are jumping at your own risk.
If jumping isn’t your thing, be sure to at least take a stroll down the Pier. The water is crystal clear and you may even catch a glimpse of a sea turtle or other marine life!
Celebrating 30 Years
In celebration of Centerline’s 30th anniversary, we’re sharing 30 Things Centerline Loves About St. Croix. Each week we’ll share something new — and we hope you’ll chime in on social media by telling us what you love too! Our big 3-0 is in March 2020, when we’ll also be giving away a St. Croix vacation.
