Hotel Caravelle is a wonderful example of a business who looks out for their team and others.
“Our team is a close knit family and it was really important to all of us that our family members were all safe. We were using all forms of communication available to us to check in with each other during and after the storm. We are happy to report that all of our Caravelle team members are safe and sound.
They have also been housing volunteers and employees of various organizations critical to the recovery of St. Croix, as well as families in need due to the impact of Hurricanes Irma and Maria. A hotel representative says, “We are proud that they trust us with their safety and welfare while they assist with the important work of rebuilding our island.”
As one may expect from a category 5 hurricane with sustained peak winds of up to 180 mph, the hotel was impacted by the forceful winds. The Caravelle faces many of the same challenges as other businesses in the community; however, they continue to provide a top-notch experience for their guests. Upgraded rooms offer harbor or boardwalk views; some feature sea views and/or cathedral ceilings. A suite adds a separate living/dining area and a kitchenette. A relaxed restaurant with a terrace overlooks the sea. An outdoor pool is surrounded by a sundeck with loungers. There’s also a casino with a bar.
The hotel is not currently taking reservations on their web site; however, reservations can be made by calling 1-800-524-0410.
“We look forward to the upcoming season. Each day we see the consistent recovery of St. Croix’s thriving business community as each establishment throws open their doors after the storm to welcome customers. With so many hands working together to prepare for the winter season we believe that there is still a lot to look forward to before 2017 comes to a close.
One of the many forms of entertainment open for business in Christiansted is the Caravelle Casino, which opened October 13.
